This is the budget end of my thumb splint range. Of the four I recommend, it is the least supportive, which also means it allows the most movement and function. It is the least hard wearing, so I see it as a good choice for short-term use, or as a low-cost trial to find out whether a splint helps you before you invest in a more durable one.

What I like

  • Cheap and simple
  • Lightweight, breathable and flexible, so it allows the most hand function of the four
  • Hand washable
  • Comes in left and right versions
  • Made in the UK

Things to know

  • It gives the least support, so it may not be enough if your symptoms are more severe
  • It is the least durable, so expect to replace it sooner
  • Make sure you order the correct side (left or right) and check the wrist size guide

Who it suits: people with thumb base arthritis (CMC and/or STT joints) with milder symptoms, people wanting short-term support, and anyone who wants to see if a splint is going to work for them before buying a firmer one.

Compare with: the Orliman, Push Meta and LigaFlex Rhizo splints, if you want more support or a longer-lasting splint.
